What is your registration, deposit, and tuition fees?

Registration Fee:
$300 per child (Full-time & Part-time). This fee is non-refundable, due every school year in September and covers school supplies for the year.

Deposit Fee:
$200 per child (Full-time & Part-time). This deposit is refundable during the child’s last month of attendance, provided the school receives a written notice at least one month in advance of the child’s departure or non-renewal of contract with Lagarllito’s.

Tuition Fee:
Tuition varies depending on your child’s age and the program they attend. Please refer to our Tuition Costs for details. Tuition is not pro-rate; families are responsible for the full month’s tuition since the school reserves a space for each child.

First and Last Month Tuition:
The first and last month’s tuition are required at the time of enrollment. The last month’s tuition may be paid in up to four (4) monthly installments.
Please note: If the school does not receive written notice of withdrawal or non-renewal at least one month in advance, regardless of whether your child is enrolled for the summer camp (July–August) or the academic year (September–June) the last month’s tuition cannot be applied toward the final month of attendance and will be forfeited.” Please do not assume the contract will expire automatically when the school year or summer camp ends.

Extra Hours (6:30–9:30 a.m. & 3:30–6:00 p.m.):
$28 per hour (pro-rated per additional minute)

Flat Rate for Extended Hours:
$350 per month — covers early drop-off and/or late pick-up, not to exceed 10 hours per day.

Regardless of when written notification is received within the month, you owe the following month’s full tuition as this allows time to find your child’s replacement. For example, you provide written notice on April 15th that your child’s last day is May 15th. You will owe May’s tuition in full as it is not pro-rated. (there is no reimbursement for the days your child will not attend in the month of May) Your last month is defined as the month after you give notice regardless of attendance.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Yes! Preschool and Pre-K children are welcome to bring an item for show and tell on Mondays during circle time. Children may also bring a stuffed animal for nap/rest time (please note that infants should not bring stuffed animals for safety reasons).

My child has certain allergies. Will these be considered at the school?

Yes! Lagarllito’s Garden is a nut-free facility, and our trained staff take allergies seriously to ensure every child’s safety. We work closely with families to meet each child’s needs and provide a nurturing, joyful environment.

What payment methods do you accept?

We gladly accept personal checks, money orders, or cash. Please note that we do not accept electronic transfers or digital payments.

Do you provide meals?

Lagarllito’s Garden does not provide breakfast or lunch, so all children must bring a ready-to-eat meal from home. For food allergies, intolerances, and safety reasons, children are asked not to share lunches.

We ask that parents send only nutritious meals. Sweets such as candy, juice, chocolate/strawberry milk will not be given to children at school (exceptions may apply for birthdays or special celebrations). For guidance, you can reference the USDA MyPlate website: www.myplate.gov.

Snacks: We provide two out of the three daily snacks; the remaining snack should be included in your child’s breakfast or lunch.

What are the classroom ratios?

At Lagarllito’s Garden Bilingual Spanish School, we prioritize your child’s safety and development by adhering to Washington State’s licensing requirements. Our classroom ratios are:

  • Infants (1 through 12 months): 1 teacher per 4 children
  • Toddlers (12 through 30 months): 1 teacher per 7 children
  • Preschool and Pre-K ( 30 months through 6 years): 1 teacher per 10 children
  • Before and after school program (6 through 9 1/2 years): 1 teacher per 15 children

These ratios ensure that each child receives individual attention and care in a safe, engaging environment. We are committed to maintaining these standards consistently throughout the day.

What is your curriculum or teaching approach?

At Lagarllito’s Garden Bilingual Spanish School, we follow the Creative Curriculum, a research-based approach that emphasizes learning through play. Our classrooms are engaging, hands-on, and child-centered, allowing children to explore, experiment, and develop essential skills in a nurturing environment.

We also focus on individualized learning, tailoring activities and experiences to each child’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs. Through play-based learning, children build cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills while discovering the world around them. Our teachers guide and support each child’s curiosity, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning.

How do you assess or track my child’s progress?

At Lagarllito’s Garden Bilingual Spanish School, our goal is to work closely with families to support each child’s success. When a child joins our program, we begin with a formal assessment to understand their current skills and developmental level.

Throughout the year, we conduct formal observations and evaluations three days a week to track progress in detail. In addition, informal assessments are done daily, allowing our teachers to adapt activities and instruction to each child’s individual needs. This approach ensures that every child receives the support and guidance they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

Do you take state subsidies?

Yes! Lagarllito’s Garden Bilingual Spanish School accepts state subsidies. We’re happy to work with families to help make quality early education accessible and affordable for everyone.

How do you handle discipline?

At Lagarllito’s Garden, we view discipline as an opportunity to teach, guide, and support children as they learn to understand their emotions, build relationships, and make positive choices.

We use positive guidance strategies that encourage empathy, self-regulation, and problem-solving. Teachers observe carefully to recognize each child’s needs, anticipate challenges, and offer gentle redirection and encouragement.

When additional support is needed, we collaborate closely with families to create consistent, nurturing strategies that promote every child’s sense of safety, confidence, and belonging.

How will I be informed about my child’s day?

Families receive a daily report via email with details about their child’s meals, naps, activities, potty breaks or diaper changes, and bottles, along with notes about their mood and any needed supplies, such as extra clothes, diapers, or wipes.

We also use the same system to share photos and videos two to three times a week, offering a glimpse into your child’s experiences, special moments, and discoveries throughout the day. This helps families stay connected and engaged in their child’s learning and growth.

Do you accept drop-in care?

We do not offer drop-in care. Our program is contract-based, which means families reserve a consistent schedule with specific days and times. This approach helps create a predictable routine for children and ensures that we maintain our small class sizes and teacher-to-child ratios.
